Turtle Creek Hotel & Casino is a premier Northern Michigan resort and gaming destination. The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians chose SVT to provide design-build services for the new hotel and casino. In addition, the tribe entered into a five-year Managed Services Program with SVT that included complete equipment coverage, technical support and on-site staff augmentation. The project encompassed a fully integrated Audio and Video distribution solution.
The facility features two unique “Towers of Powers” with various size displays on all four sides of the structure. The 360,000 square feet of space also included a nightclub lounge, convention space and three restaurants. This project included 159 LCD/Plasmas displayed throughout the gaming floor which contained over 2000 slot machines.
In the Turtle Creek Hotel, 169 LCD’s were included for the guest rooms, as well as a comprehensive digital signage system to create and display marketing messages on any displays throughout the facility. Additionally, SVT outfitted all of the conference room solutions for Turtle Creek.
The audio system, designed and engineered by SVT/Altel, consisted of 384 ceiling mounted speakers to facilitate a rich blend of audio level in all areas of the facility. The video distribution was accomplished by using a Magenta Mondo Matrix.
To give Turtle Creek the ability to control different areas of video, audio and lighting, SVT provided a Crestron control solution.
“During a progressive win, the slot system notifies the control system and initiates an eye-catching show incorporating the facility’s audio, video, and lighting. This unique technology solution increases customer engagement and awareness throughout the casino – a great marketing tool that can assist in increasing revenue and customer satisfaction.”
In the nightclub lounge, SVT provided a performance audio system and a DJ system. In addition, a video jukebox was provided for the guests to enjoy live music videos.
Since the projects initial completion, SVT has worked with Turtle Creek to add additional displays and digital restaurant menu boards throughout the facility.
